In 2017, the regional distribution of China’s wood-based panel industry was further stabilized.
East China (Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Fujian Province, Anhui Province and Jiangxi Province) produces 176.03 million cubic meters of wood-based panels, accounting for 59.7% of the total production of wood-based panels in the country, up from 58% last year. It is a major region in China’s wood-based panels production. The production of wood-based panels in Shandong Province and Anhui Province has grown into a region. The main factor contributing to the increase in share.
South China (Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hainan Province) has produced 47.89 million cubic meters of wood-based panels, down 5.9% from the same period last year, accounting for 16.2% of China’s wood-based panels, but it still ranks the second largest production area in China. Guangdong’s wood-based panels production has fallen sharply for two consecutive years in Guangxi and Hainan. Wood-based panel production is expected to continue to increase.
The output of wood-based panels in central China (Henan, Hubei and Hunan provinces) increased by 2.2% compared with the same period last year, accounting for 10.7% of the total output of wood-based panels in the whole country from 10.3% last year.
The output of wood-based panels in North China (Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Shanxi Province) was 17.29 million cubic meters, down 4.7% from the same period last year, accounting for 5.9% of the total output of wood-based panels in China, which declined for two consecutive years.
Southwest China (Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou and Tibet Autonomous Region) produces 12.2 million cubic meters of wood-based panels, down 13.9% year-on-year. Its share of the national production of wood-based panels dropped to 4.1% from 4.7% last year. Sichuan is in the leading position in the region, and the decline of its production of wood-based panels is the main factor for the decline of the share in the region.
In Northeast China (Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning Provinces), the output of wood-based panels dropped by 18.8% to 9.03 million cubic meters, which accounted for 3.1% of the total output of wood-based panels, down from 3.7% last year. For three consecutive years, the output of wood-based panels declined. The change of raw material structure and the adjustment basis of regional product structure were affected by the comprehensive stop of commercial harvesting policies for natural forests. This is done.
The output of wood-based panels in Northwest China (Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region) is 780,000 cubic meters, which is basically the same as last year.
